Unlock Endu, Then Collect Wind Gems
Unlock Wind Dash by retrieving the Endu Shrine Gate Key from the Crypt, defeating the Shrine Guardian, and collecting Holy Sword Endu inside the shrine. Collect additional Wind Gems to chain more Dashes: the western broken bridge requires two consecutive Dashes, while the large pit inside Obmuer Temple requires three.
Get the Key and Claim Holy Sword Endu
- Collect the Dagger Belt along the shoreline near the shipwreck. It gives you the repeatable ranged attack needed to operate the Crypt entrance switch.
- Throw a dagger at the diamond-shaped switch beside the blocked Crypt entrance. The hit opens the passage into the burial chambers.
- Retrieve the Endu Shrine Gate Key from the lower chamber reached by descending the Crypt stairs. This is the key for the shrine gate.
- Make a manual save at a Crystal Monument before approaching the shrine. This preserves your Crypt pickups; resting and saving are separate actions.
- Use the key at the locked Shrine of Endu gate. Opening it gives you access to the Shrine Guardian's arena.
- Defeat the Shrine Guardian to reach the sword beyond it. The Club found in the Crypt is a useful choice because the Guardian is weak to Impact damage.
- Collect Holy Sword Endu inside the shrine. Its first Wind Gem is already installed, immediately giving you a single Wind Dash.
Activate Wind Dash and Watch Your Charges
The Wind Dash meter shows your available charges as diamonds. Each Dash spends one diamond, which gradually recharges over time. Each additional Wind Gem adds another rechargeable charge, letting you chain more Dashes during an air crossing.
Before trying a distant landing, check your available diamonds and let spent charges recover. Plan the crossing around the charges you actually have ready. Practicing over a familiar gap can help you get comfortable with chaining the movement before attempting a longer crossing.
Wind Gem Upgrades and Gap Requirements
| Upgrade | Traversal Result |
|---|---|
| The Wind Gem already installed in Endu. | Provides a single Wind Dash when you collect the sword. |
| The second Wind Gem above the opening region. | Enables two consecutive Dashes for the western broken bridge toward Obmuer Temple. |
| The third Wind Gem inside Obmuer Temple. | Enables three Dashes for the temple's large pit crossing. |
Reach the Elevated Wind Gem
- Head to the upper Crystal Monument above the opening region. This is the landmark for the route to the second Wind Gem.
- Climb the rocks between the pillars to approach the elevated platform. This puts you on the route to the gem.
- Use your existing Wind Dash to reach the elevated platform. The gem is accessible with the movement ability you received from Endu.
- Collect the Wind Gem to gain a second rechargeable Dash charge. You can now chain the two Dashes needed for the western bridge.
- Cross the western broken bridge with two consecutive Wind Dashes. This takes you toward the flooded ruins surrounding Obmuer Temple.
Find the Wind Gem Below the Temple Pit
Obmuer Temple's main entrance requires four Triangular Slates collected in the flooded ruins outside. Inside, the Trident Key from the watery entrance area opens the route forward. Continue through that route until you reach the second Crystal Monument and the large pit.
- Examine the wall below the large pit near the second Crystal Monument. Look for the lower opening rather than attempting the full crossing immediately.
- Wind Dash into that lower wall opening. It leads into the passage containing the third Wind Gem.
- Collect the Wind Gem in the passage. Its additional charge gives you the three Wind Dashes needed for the large pit.
- Cross the large pit using three Wind Dashes once your charges have recovered. The extra charge supplies the reach required for this obstacle.
Tower Progression Spoilers: The Storm Gem
Recovering the Storm Gem makes Endu's special attack meter available. For longer chained crossings, continue collecting Wind Gems. Collecting all five Wind Gems also completes the Feel the Wind achievement.
Fix a Dash That Will Not Activate or Reach
- Check whether you are holding a charged melee attack. Holding that charge prevents Wind Dash, so finish the attack before attempting your crossing.
- Let your Wind Dash diamonds recharge before retrying. Having collected an upgrade does not mean every charge is currently ready to use.
- Stop running while preparing for another attempt so your Power Meter can recover. Running drains that meter, and Wind Dash also consumes its energy.
- Check your Wind Gem progression when you fall short of a required crossing. Increasing Endu's damage does not extend its reach; additional Dash charges are what open the longer gaps.
